iGaming Platform: Senior Business Intelligence Analyst / Data Scientist

The Opportunity / About Us

We are an agile, innovative team managing a proprietary ecosystem of games and platform tools. Operating within a larger global organization, we help operate a successful iGaming platform.

Data is the engine behind every decision we make, from how we balance game economies and design live events to how we grow player engagement and optimize monetization. This role sits at the heart of that engine, turning high-volume behavioral data into the insights and systems that make our games and platform smarter.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst / Data Scientist to own analytics, game economy design, and data-driven decision-making across our live game portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Casino Operations, you will be equally at home querying millions of rows of player event data, building statistical models, and designing and balancing live game economy parameters. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role: this is not a reporting function, you are a core product and operations decision-maker with a seat at the table.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics & Insights

  • Player Behavior Analysis: Build and maintain deep analytical views of player behavior across engagement funnels, session patterns, retention cohorts, and monetization curves, then translate findings into concrete product and operations recommendations.
  • Statistical Modeling: Design and maintain predictive models for player lifetime value, churn risk, and behavioral segmentation. Apply rigorous statistical methods to separate signal from noise.
  • Experimentation: Design, run, and analyze A/B tests and multivariate experiments across game features, promotions, and live events. Champion a culture of evidence-based iteration.
  • Dashboards & Reporting: Build and own operational dashboards for real-time and historical game performance, player KPIs, and business metrics. Ensure key stakeholders always have visibility into what matters most.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Respond quickly and rigorously to business questions from product, operations, and leadership, providing well-documented, reproducible analysis.

Game Economy Design & Live Operations

  • Economy Design: Design and implement live game economy parameters including return-to-player (RTP) targets, volatility profiles, bonus structures, and reward mechanics, in close collaboration with the Game Math Designer and Product teams.
  • Balancing & Tuning: Monitor live game performance against economic targets and drive data-backed tuning cycles to keep player experience and business outcomes in balance.
  • Event Postmortems: Own the full analysis lifecycle for live events and promotions, from initial hypothesis and pre-event baseline through post-event debrief, and translate findings into an ever-improving playbook.

Data Infrastructure & Collaboration

  • Data Pipeline Partnership: Collaborate with engineering to define event taxonomies, data schemas, and analytics pipelines. Own the analytics layer from raw event data through to business-ready outputs.
  • Cross-functional Partnership: Work closely with Product, Game Math Design, Engineering, and Operations to embed data thinking into every stage of the product and operations lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 4+ Years of Experience: Proven track record in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science, ideally in a high-volume, short-iteration-cycle environment such as social gaming, consumer tech, mobile games, or fintech.
  • SQL Mastery: Expert-level SQL skills are non-negotiable. You should be equally comfortable writing complex analytical queries and optimizing them at scale. You've worked with large datasets and data warehouses / data lakes such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or ClickHouse before
  • Python or R Proficiency: Strong working proficiency in Python or R for statistical analysis, simulation, data wrangling, and model building.
  • Statistical Foundations: Solid understanding of hypothesis testing, regression, cohort analysis, probability distributions, and experimental design.
  • Data Visualization: Experience building and maintaining dashboards and data visualizations for operational and executive audiences (Grafana, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent).
  • Communication: Able to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field preferred but not required. We look for experience and passion.

Bonus Points

  • Experience designing or balancing game economies (RTP, volatility, bonus mechanics, reward systems).
  • Background in social gaming, social casino, or consumer gaming analytics.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques applied to player behavior (clustering, classification, recommendation, churn prediction).
  • Experience with A/B testing platforms and experimentation infrastructure.
  • Exposure to Provably Fair game mechanics or auditable RNG systems.
  • Experience working with event-driven data architectures or message broker pipelines (NATS, Kafka, etc.).

Our Tech Stack

  • Languages: Python, R, SQL
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, Snowflake, ClickHouse
  • Visualization: Grafana, Tableau, Rill, Posthog
  • Experimentation: Internal experimentation tools

You Are…

  • Action-Oriented: Delivers results through effective cross-functional collaboration. Get stuff done.
  • Takes Ownership: Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex systems with minimal oversight while engaging the team proactively.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Proactive in cross-team communications. Communicates clearly. Communicates changes and impacts proactively. Document changes and technical impacts.
  • Decisive: Exercising high judgment on when to model deeply vs. when to ship an answer and iterate.

Why Join Us?

  • Impact: Your analysis directly shapes game design, live event strategy, and business decisions. You are a core decision-maker, not a reporting function.
  • Growth: We are a high-growth startup backed by an industry giant with significant resources to power growth.
  • Culture: A creative, driven, and transparent environment where we value "getting stuff done" over red tape.
  • Stability: Competitive salary, and benefits.
